Jacob Crawford Cunningham "Jake"

On Wednesday, January 14th Alan & I got up and went to the hospital at 5:15am for a 7:15am scheduled C-section. I was more nervous this time because it was planned and I had more time to think about the surgery. With Sam the C-section was our last option so when it was time to have it I was a little out of it from the other drugs the doctors had given me throughout the day. The nurses were great and talked Alan & I through the whole process as it was happening so I would know what was going on. At 7:30am Jake was born and is a healthy 8lbs 9oz and 19 inches long. It is amazing how much he looks like Sam! We are so blessed to have 2 healthy very active boys!

Jake did extremely well in the hospital but of course our first night at home was a bit of a challenge. On Saturday after surviving our first night at home we realized that our baby actually was just a bit of a piglet and needed more formula at each feeding. Once we gave him more formula he was sleeping better and is much more content when awake.

Sam did not like the fact that mommy was in the hospital with wires connected to me (IV). He said I was in jail and when the nurse tried to take my blood pressure he told her to leave me alone and take that thing off! Once they took the IV off and he saw me out of the bed he was much better. He would get timid anytime someone would ask him if he wanted to see Jake but once we got home and it was the 4 of us he started to open up and started asking questions and talking to Jake. He has some some issue with Mommy having to share her time but I have done my best to give him as much attention as possible as well as everyone else! He has loved getting all of his "big brother" presents!!

Thanks to all of our family and friends for the calls, visits, etc during this exciting time! We have a few rough weeks ahead as we all adjust to our new home life with the 4 of us!
